Featured Article: How Your Website Can Promote You

As an independent musician or band, there are several ways in which you can promote your music, both online and offline. With more and more people turning to the web for information, having your own website gives you the potential to reach a wider audience. Let’s take a look at a few ways you can use your site to help promote yourself and your music.

Maintain a permanent online presence

Your website serves as a permanent address where your fans and admirers can learn more about you and keep up-to-date on your work. Therefore, it’s important that you publicize your website address at shows and in all of your printed materials (CD sleeves, flyers, program notes, press kits, etc.), so that people can find you. For more information about how to promote your website, please see our previous article, "Helping people find you online".

Stay in touch with fans

Your website can be more than simply a static collection of documents about yourself and your music. By integrating interactive elements such as a newsletter/mailing list and/or contact form, your site can become an effective tool for keeping in touch with your fans. Make sure you also publish your schedule dates on your site to keep your fans updated on when and where you will be performing.

Control Panel Tip: Stay In Touch With Fans Using the Newsletter Manager

As the above Featured Article mentioned, one of the best ways to stay in touch with fans is through an email newsletter. Did you know that you can easily do this right from your existing NoteWay website?

All NoteWay websites include a Newsletter Manager to manage your mailing list. When visitors come to your website, they can enter their email address to signup for your newsletter. These email addresses are automatically added to your list of subscribers in the Newsletter Manager.

From within the Newsletter Manager you can view your current subscribers and download the list to an Excel spreadsheet for your own records. The Newsletter Manager also allows you to manually add, edit, or delete subscribers from your list.

When you are ready to send out your next email newsletter, the Newsletter Manager offers you the tools to compose your newsletter onscreen. These are the same tools available to edit text on the other pages in your website. When you are ready to send the newsletter, it is automatically distributed to everyone on your subscriber list.

The Newsletter Manager is available from the Main Menu of your NoteWay Control Panel. Try using it as another way to stay in touch with fans and boost traffic to your website.

Tell-A-Friend About NoteWay and Get A Free Month of Service

NoteWay is proud to announce the launch of our Tell-A-Friend referral program. This is our way of thanking our existing customers for helping to spread the word about NoteWay.

The Tell-A-Friend referral program allows our customers to get a free month of service for every friend they refer to us. Each NoteWay customer will receive a free month of service for each friend that signs up for a NoteWay website and maintains their account for at least 30 days.

If you’re an existing NoteWay customer, we’ve made it easy to get started. NoteWay customers can refer friends directly from the NoteWay control panel and track the status of these referrals. Simply follow the link below to log into the control panel and then follow the link at the top that says “Start referring friends now!”. This will take you to a form where you can quickly send out invitations to your friends via email.
