NoteWay Notes Newsletter #24

Welcome to our next edition of NoteWay Notes, the official newsletter from NoteWay Media.

The new control panel has only been released for a few weeks now, and already we’ve received a lot of great comments and suggestions for more changes. Thanks to everyone for your feedback, and please keep sending us your ideas.

In the meantime, this month’s newsletter talks about some of the latest changes that have already been added.

Show/Hide Newsletter Sign-Up On Your Home Page

Your NoteWay website now includes the option to show or hide the email newsletter sign-up form on your home page. By default, the newsletter sign-up form appears to visitors, but this can easily be changed at any time within the control panel. The option is available under the Webpage Content section under the home page settings.

One thing to note is that this does not remove the Newsletter Manager section from your control panel. This means you can still send out newsletters through the Newsletter Manager even if the sign-up form is hidden from your home page.

Default Page Names In Control Panel

The control panel now shows the default name for each page in addition to your custom name. This appears on the Webpage Content menu in the list of pages. The default name for each page appears next to any custom name that you are using on your website.

For example, let’s say you’re using the Contact page but renamed the page to be called Booking on your website. Then the list of pages on the Webpage Content menu of the control panel will show this page as "Booking (default name: Contact)".

This only affects how you view the pages in the control panel. This will not affect the page names that are shown to visitors on your website.

Change How Entries Are Sorted

You now have the ability to change how entries on the Press Releases and Reviews pages are sorted on your website. This effectively means that you can now change how the list of entries are sorted on any page of your website. All of the following pages now offer a sorting option: Biography, Music, Photo Galleries, Press Releases, Related Links, Reviews, and Schedule.

To change how entries are sorted on any of these pages, select the Webpage Content option in the control panel, then select the page you want to sort. From the right menu for that section, select the option for sorting.

For example, let’s say you want to change the order of entries listed on the reviews page. From the main menu of the control panel, select the Webpage Content section, then select the Reviews page. From the options on the right menu, select the "Change the order of reviews" option.
